Multipower ambassadors Team Liquigas Cannondale have enjoyed an impressive start to this year’s Tour de France, with 22-year-old Peter Sagan winning stage one and stage three of the Tour.
Peter Sagen is joined by Ivan Basso and Vincenzo Nibali as team leaders for this year’s Tour.
Nibali, known as ‘The Shark’ will aim for a top position in the general classification, while Sagen is looking for stage wins, and two time winner of the Giro d’Italia, Basso, will be supporting his younger teammates.
As the riders of the pro cycling team fine tuned their preparations for this year’s Tour de France, Multipower sports food joined Team Liquigas Cannondale at their training camp in the high mountain pass of Passo San Pellegrino in the Italian Dolomites.
Nibali, who will be aiming to become the first Italian to win the Tour since Marco Pantani in 1998, will face tough competition from the likes of Team Sky rider Bradley Wiggins, although the Italian wouldn’t be drawn on who might triumph in this year’s Tour.
When asked at the training camp who would win in a fight between a shark and a crocodile (Bradley Wiggins), Nibali admitted that while the crocodile was a good fighter, he could not offer a verdict as to who would prevail in a fight.
