Performance Communications wins Automotive campaign of the year at CIPR Excellence Awards

This week, we took home the award for the best ‘Automotive campaign’ for our Fiat Professional Tradesman Trials campaign at the CIPR Excellence Awards 2017.

The campaign which maximised Fiat Professional’s sponsorship of the English Football League gave one tradesman the chance to forge a professional football career. The insight-driven, content-led campaign gave Fiat’s target audience an emotional reason to engage with Fiat Professional and resulted in widespread coverage and the sale of five vans.

Commenting on the campaign, the judges said: “Performance Communications ticked all the boxes – they had a clear strategy, carried out with structured research and, with inclusion of all relevant partners, resulted in a demonstrable return on investment. The programme ensured that key messages reached all target audiences, with a creative, inspiring and fun campaign which captured the imagination.

“It made the most of a previously under-utilised sponsorship partnership and involved no other agency input. Using a broad range of tactics and events, they undertook a range of activities that resulted in 5 clear sales.”

The agency was one of only 29 winners on the night and was picked from a short-list of six in the Automotive category.

The CIPR Excellence Awards are the longest-running and most-rigorously assessed awards in public relations. Now in their 33rd year, the Excellence Awards showcase the highest levels of professional achievement from PR professionals and teams across the UK and throughout the world.

Well done team!

Should You Still Use Hashtags on Social Media?

This question comes up a lot when discussing social media strategy: Should we include hashtags? The Origins of Hashtags Hashtags were originally designed to group conversations on social platforms, making it easier for people to follow specific topics. MOTD Vs Changing viewing habits

I used to be a Match of the Day devotee, but the appeal is unfortunately waning. Yes, Sunderland AFC have been absent for 7 (seven) seasons, but I can’t remember the last time I tuned in for a full episode and with viewing figures down year-on-year (just 2.7 million earlier in January), this national institution […]
