October saw the Middle East launch of the new all-electric Renault ZOE Long Range model – the first major event for Performance since the Dubai office stated its relationship with Renault in June.

The new Renault ZOE long range model boasts a record driving range of 300 kilometres on a single charge – and that’s in real-world driving conditions, tested in the height of the summer where temperatures in Dubai can soar to 50 degrees! The ZOE’s driving range is the best of any car currently available in the Middle East and is double the distance of the previous generation ZOE model.

Challenge the Range Event

In a four-day event aptly named ‘Challenge the Range’, Performance invited media, dealers and customers to put the ZOE’s driving range and the rest of the Renault ‘range’ to the test in a number of fun driving challenges. The event was hosted at the picturesque Jumeirah Golf Estates; a vast lush green area in an otherwise predominantly sandy city.

For the first driving challenge of the day, guests were tasked with driving the Renault ZOE as economically as possible on a test drive route to a local café in another rare green area – Al Barari. Once guests arrived at Al Barari they were invited to design their own Renault ZOE using a virtual spray paint gun on a giant screen. After ‘re-charging’ over lunch, guests put the SUV line-up through its paces in a series of obstacle challenges before testing their speed and agility skills on a slalom course in the Renault Twizy.

Welcoming over 80 guests over the four days, the event resulted in TV coverage from CNBC Middle East and Fox Movies, print coverage in national newspapers and magazines, as well as an array of online articles and videos across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Lebanon.
