The Brief.
Recyclus is the UK’s first industrial-scale lithium-ion battery recycler, processing up to 22,000 tonnes of Li-ion batteries per year.
With the opening of a new battery recycling facility in the West Midlands, Recyclus sought help from Performance Comms to raise awareness among OEMs, vehicle maintenance centres, industry suppliers and media about their lithium-ion battery recycling processes and capacity.
This was to be achieved by creating owned and social content, as well as earned media.
The Response.
Performance Comms implemented an integrated owned-earned campaign that raised awareness of Recyclus’ battery recycling technology. The campaign focused on key trade publications, aiming to increase awareness and customer demand.
An episodic news release plan was provided, detailing the vision and capability of Recyclus and its recycling facilities.
On top of this, the response included:
- Executive briefings and site tours with trade media
- Op-eds in trade and engineering media
- Social content that detailed the technology, process and the people behind the scenes
The Results.
The campaign successfully secured media coverage in key trade media outlets, delivering cut through on the key messaging set out in the brief.
The social campaign delivered long-term strategic benefits, connecting with key industry influencers and building a deep community of supporters.
Headline results included:
- 41 pieces of earned media coverage in key trade media, increasing visibility and promoting Recyclus’s message
- 10% growth in web traffic, increasing the company’s visibility and attracting new business opportunities
- 18k new social media followers, establishing Recyclus as a dynamic and innovative voice in the industry
