Arsenal Football Club puts Citroën’s New Grand C4 Picasso through its paces

To promote Citroën’s award-winning New Grand C4 Picasso, which was launching in the UK in January, Performance Communications suggested using players from Arsenal FC – for which Citroën is Official Car Partner – to demonstrate a few of the car’s key features in a light-hearted and entertaining piece of video content.

First team regulars Per Mertesacker, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Wojciech Szczęsny were drafted in to put the new seven-seater MPV through its paces in some less-than-technical tests which the players had a lot of fun taking part in.

The production was limited to a 60-minute window with the players, so meticulous planning and close direction were essential to cover off all of the shots in a filming session that needed to move at lightning pace.

The resulting video was released to coincide with the car’s on-sale date and in a week had generated almost 300,000 organic views on YouTube whilst also creating media coverage. The reception to the video by both Citroën and Arsenal fans has been overwhelmingly positive.
