Vauxhall Electric Streets of Britain – Vauxhall x Zoopla Collaboration

The Brief.

As the Electric Streets of Britain campaign entered its third year, Vauxhall aimed to take its groundbreaking initiative to a new, lifestyle focussed audience.

Whilst work from the team had cemented Electric Streets firmly at the forefront of conversations around the UK’s journey to electrification, Vauxhall wanted to demonstrate the importance of access to public charging through an integrated, consumer-friendly activation.

The Response.

Vauxhall conducted research that showed nearly 75% of buyers place high importance on EV charge point access when it comes to thinking about their next home, while 40% of UK drivers said access to nearby electric vehicle charging facilities would be influential next time they move house.

To help drivers find homes with EV charging access, the Vauxhall team set up a partnership with leading property marketplace, Zoopla. The collaboration saw Vauxhall and Zoopla team up to introduce industry-first features that allow drivers to filter through homes with private charging, and find the closest on-street charging to properties listed across its web and app platforms.

The collaboration developed to allow full integration from Vauxhall and Zoopla’s PR, Marketing and Social Media teams, including a bespoke, Vauxhall-sponsored EV charging hub on the Zoopla website, and mapping services powered by Vauxhall.

The Results.

The collaboration between Vauxhall and Zoopla received coverage across all key national and automotive titles. Media were quick to highlight the benefits of the collaboration for drivers looking to find new homes with EV charging access, whilst leaders across the auto and property industries took to social media to praise the collaboration as a positive step towards providing greater access to charging facilities.

Vauxhall’s collaboration with Zoopla was subsequently used as a case study in a broadcast day hosted between national and regional media and the Vauxhall Managing Director, providing a direct proof point of how Vauxhall and Electric Streets continues to support EV drivers and the UK’s wider electrification journey.

Coverage drove traffic back to the bespoke hub pages created by Vauxhall and Zoopla, whilst also pointing drivers towards the electricstreets.co.uk website.
