Establishing E-Powertrain Leadership

The Brief.

Helix is a British engineering company that specialises in the production of the world’s most power-dense electric motors and inverters. ​

Performance Comms was tasked with helping Helix to generate “top-of-the-funnel” content to drive new business. New sectors such as aerospace, defence, and marine were primary targets – any areas in which Helix could help with the move to electric.

The Response.

To achieve Helix’s goals, an integrated owned-earned campaign was implemented. This focused on raising awareness of Helix’s technology, educating the market about electrification possibilities across a range of sectors, and documenting Helix’s expertise in e-powertrain delivery.

Performance Comms successfully secured Helix significant earned media coverage by gaining op-eds in trade and engineering media.

Helix was also further promoted via executive briefings with trade media. These explored Helix’s history and industry vision, getting the company’s story out to a wider audience.

Whitepaper content was also published for trade shows and online, showcasing Helix’s e-powertrain leadership.

The Results.

In just the first four months of the campaign, Performance Comms secured 33 pieces of earned media coverage in high-relevance trade and engineering media outlets​ for Helix.

Along with press releases, five of these pieces of coverage were impactful op-eds in leading trade media, exploring key electrification topics for consumers​

A leading whitepaper was developed and launched within one month for the Paris Air Show, exploring a new aircraft architecture envisioned by the team. This secured dozens of new business leads​.

Further headline stats included:

  • The delivery of 33 pieces of earned media coverage, increasing the company’s profile
  • The publication of 5 original opinion pieces, establishing Helix as a thought leader
  • 3% growth in web traffic to Helix’s site, increasing visibility and driving new business
  • 240% increase in LinkedIn web traffic, amplifying Helix’s voice and opening new business opportunities
